Vista Pista

All new waited Microsoft next boon to the computer world - Windows Vista - is going to hit the market soon. This latest flavor from Microsoft has an improved UI. Microsoft’s previous product, Windows XP, had a good functionality with friendly user interface and first of all a wide range of device compatibility. Though there were some security breaches, XP survived to be in the race with Linux. Vista inherits many features from XP, thus standing reliable.
Security has been a major concern to all Windows versions, which is now taken care of. I heard that some chief from McAfee was taken by Microsoft to manage the security related technology in the operating system. Despite of many enhancements, the first vista virus - Monad (written by “Second Part to Hell”) was found just in 8 days from the release of the Vista Beta version. This made Microsoft hide the kernel. Now, software companies are demanding the access to the kernel, as many of their programs should depend on kernel.
Vista claims to prevent piracy of softwares. If Microsoft works on preventing piracy of the operating system or any of its other products, then there is no doubt that it is going to gain profits unimaginable to any human being. Every person with Vista on his computer should pay approx. 7000 rupees just for the operating system. If he plans to install other softwares, he SHOULD activate it online for what ever he will use. In this scenario, a diversion towards open source can be expected among middle-class.

My hand is now set right. I had a small ride on my bike. It seems ok, though I have a little pain. Guess what, police caught me for not wearing helmet. I showed them my hand and escaped from their penalty. And I made this new look for the site. With a “brand new” look my site has now many functionalities. Any way, things are okay at my new work place, TCS. I am working on ASP.NET and Lectora.

Bad news folks! I met with an accident on July 28th. The car going before me had put a sudden brake in the speed of 40-50 KMPH. I went and hit that car from back and fell down. To my surprise I soon found that my left hand is swollen. Thank god, it wasn’t broken, but I had to spend around twenty thousand rupees towards medical expenses to get back my hand. Though I have the bandage around my hand, I can do my daily activities.

Good news folks!! My TCS (Tata Consultancy Services) interview is successfull and I am selected as webdesigner. Now I need to leave the job of webmaster at L V Prasad Eye Institute (www.lvpei.org). Before that I need to find some one for my place. If you are fresher and PHP programmer, you are welcome to accept this offer. The job would be easy and good for beginners. Lots of free time, in which you can develop your skills, as I did.

Attended an interview at TATA Consultancy Services, Madhapur, for web designers. Mr Murali interviewed me. I tried to convince him that I can do the programming and designing as well. But God knows what would be the result. By the way folks, I have been promoted as PHP Programmer in LVPEI and my salary now stars five numbers.

‘ To participate in this contest, type so and so keywords and send SMS to xxxx…. to vote for your favorite actor or actress, SMS something to some number… SMS that, SMS this,… ‘
SMS - Short Message Service, these days has become a powerful tool. Every where you will find people asking you to send some sort of SMS for almost many things. These days, even TV ads have footers with SMS information. This revolution is fully supported by cellphone makers. Major companies like Nokia, Motorola and Samsung are introducing cellphones with SMS facility as a mandatory feature. Some modern mobiles allow you to email from SMS.
In future, don’t get surprised if you are asked to send your resume (CV) to major companies in the form of SMS.

Also, I am about to be promoted from webmaster to Clinical Research programmer in my office. By the way, KS Journal is back. I got clearance from Border Security Forces of KSEmpire. I had to pay for each article in the journal. I am looking forward to add more articles.
Call centers are calling freshers
Posted on June 13, 06 @ 04:33 pm under Mind Views and has no comments.
‘… Jobs jobs… Do you want to get into Satyam, Wipro, Infosys or Dell easily? A good beginning for freshers. Post resume on our website. We are recruiters …’
Many websites have these kind of ads animating on a side. If it is very easy to get into Satyam or Wipro (I hear only these 2 companies first, in IT industry), then two thirds of the Indian population will be in these top 3 or 5 companies. They are looking for people with good communication skills. Guess what.. they are expecting you to work in their call centers. If you are only BE or MCA, you can get in to technical side. Else, call center is the only lifebuoy. If you want to work for big companies, you should prepare yourself to work as a call center guy. All you have to do is put a earphone and suk the mic, like a lollypop, and answer the client’s silly questions (Cuz i ask all silly questions). Work at nights and sleep in days.
India is becoming a one stop mall for call centers and BPOs. In hyderabad itself, there are plenty of call center training schools. They will teach you english. Not the traditional ABCD english, but an ‘Accent neutral’ english. With such english you can talk to foreigners like a foreigner.
‘.. i wunt to tuk to you guyz in excent nootral englishhh… kujju hellp me?’
Why are US based companies having call centers in India? Cant they have in their countries? Why should WE work according to their convinience and why don’t they work according to us? Does US lacks knowledge or rather confidence? Then why do many people go to US?
All new Yahoo! Mail

Today my Yahoo! Mail interface has changed to yahoo mail beta. WOW !!! THE NEW INTERFACE IS SIMPLY FANTASTIC. I can’t resist my excitement. I recommend that you should have it.
Days back, I saw an ad in my inbox, clicked it and gave my email id to try beta. From today I am presented with the new interface. One thing I like is tabs. Compose will come in tab, inbox will come in a tab, and more stuff.
One of my colleague still has the old one. He searched but could not find how to get the new interface. Perhaps the beta is only for selected .com ids. Any way, its fantastic. I vote it 5/5. Great job YAHOOS.
