Can we think too much?
Sometimes, when we are deeply immersed into a subject or act or conversation on single topic, we tend to stop thinking about it by saying that it is "too much" or "over". We think that "too much" is a huge and vast thing and the flight of mind just goes without an aim. Plus, we don't want to think deeply, because somebody has said that our mind might become unstable by thinking too much, and we believe in them.
We might also have previously thought about something deeply and were frightened by the negative overcome of it. Such as getting into a stage where emotional balance gets disturbed. A stage where we could not control the thinking of our mind. Our acts and talks might be opposed by others. But isn't there a chance of positive outcome when we think deeply? Can't we bring out positive results by thinking or behaving "too much"?
One of the main reasons, for avoiding "too much", might be loosing interest in the topic due to lack of knowledge and words to speak off, when we think too much of it. Because the thoughts, which are already thought of, will get repeated again and again. As humans, we don't want to do the same thing again and again. Correct? Instead, if we could bring in the extra stuff into the grinder of thinking, such as third point of views, analysis of any result of the situations thought of, and many more things that our mind can think of, wouldn't that be useful? May be our creativity and thinking capacity gets improved. We could also control our mind to keep the interest continuously, thus helping ourselves in improving the patience and observation skills.
On the other hand, I can see a small disadvantage of it. We feel that the opposite person might think of us badly. There is one principle - No two persons think alike. S/He might not have thought of as deeply as we did. So s/he is afraid of our view range and starts de-motivating us. But if we could start discarding this feeling, wouldn't that be helpful?
How it would be if we try to see how big this "too much" is? Can we practice the art of thinking "too much"? May be continuous practice might put our mind to think in a proper way with a broader range.
Let me give you an example. We fly kites every year. We wish to raise our kite to the heights. We release the thread and when kite seems to fall, we just hold the thread or pull it back and the kite automatically raises up. The only time when we withdraw the kite is either we get bored or we loose confidence on the strength of thread. So it needs a strong thread which doesn't get cut when the kite flies higher and higher. You might say - the distant kite will not be visible. Let me say you, that if it cannot be seen, it doesnt mean that it isn't there. Plus, our distance of vision is limited, but many elements do exist outside this distance.
If you have got my point, I need not explain how my example relates to the concept.
